Why We Need You
Why WE Need YOU
The more members we have, the better our strength at the bargaining table. Unions use a term called collective bargaining. That means we use the strength and skill of our membership to bargain with contractors and gain the best wages and working conditions that we can get.
Our members are the backbone of our organization. We count on them to provide the best quality work and they count on us to provide the best representation. The safety and livelihood of our members come first and foremost. We don't want our members working in dangerous situations, we want safe working conditions.
When one worker speaks to an employer their voice is small compared to the company. When thousands of workers speak, they must be heard. That is why WE need YOU.
Why Our Beliefs Depend On Family and Unity
Unions preach unity. The reason for that is because without unity we break down our strength by not acting as a single body. In an ideal situation, we perform like a large family. Taking care of each other and never letting one stand alone.
You should never have to stand alone and demand a better living. We are all working class people with common needs. For the most part, we all desire the same things out of life. We believe that everyone in our organization should work together to maintain our standards and have the ability to achieve their goals. Without unity, we are all just highly skilled solo workers. With unity on our side we have allies in our common cause.
